Therapy Services

We offer physical, occupational, and speech therapy services through our partnership with Alliance Rehab, HVA. Alliance Rehab specializes in helping senior care facilities such as the Villas at St. Paul Homes serve the needs of older adults seeking to maintain maximum functional levels.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists help people improve their ability to perform tasks of daily living.  They work with residents who have conditions that are physically, mentally and emotionally challenging.  Their goal is to help residents develop recover or maintain skills for daily living.

Speech Therapy

Our speech therapists work with residents who are challenged with speech including making speech sounds, fluency and rhythm, speech quality, and difficulty producing language.  They help residents who have cognitive impairments such as attention, memory, and problem solving disorders.  The therapists also work with residents who have eating and swallowing difficulties..

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists help residents to restore their highest level of function, improve their mobility, and to relieve their pain.  The therapists' goal is to restore, maintain and promote each resident's overall health and fitness.

Accelerated Care Plus

We have incorporated Accelerated Care Plus or ACP into our therapy department to increase treatment options for our residents. The physical agent modalities we provide through ACP include e-stim, ultrasound, and diathermy. Using these modalities, trained physical and occupational therapy staff members can help our residents to decrease pain and edema, increase tissue healing and range of motion, and improve continence.

Physiatrist

St. Paul Homes works with Dr. Stephen Paxson.  Dr. Paxson is a physician of physical medicine and work closely with our therapy staff as well as nursing, restorative care and dietary to insure complete care for residents who are rehabilitating.

Restorative Nursing

Restorative Nursing is an active program at St. Paul’s that is guided under the direction of a licensed practical nurse.  Restorative activities help our residents improve or maintain their independence as long as possible.  Our goal is to aid residents in achieving optimum physical, emotional, psychological, and social potential in order to maintain dignity and self-respect in a life that is as independent and self-fulfilling as possible.  The restorative program is nursing staff working closely with physicians and therapists to develop the best guidelines for each resident’s personal program and to work together to keep our residents happy, active, and independent as long as possible.

Senior FITness

Senior FITness at St. Paul Homes is designed to improve our residents' quality of life by increasing their independence and ability to successfully perform activities of daily living.  Senior FITness provides personalized instruction and supervision for each participant, ADL based strengthening equipment, and fitness outcome measurements to monitor improvement.  Senior FITness also provides management of chronic disease and disabilities through fitness programs.  For more information about Senior FITness contact Joyce Carbaugh , exercise physiologist and program coordinator or call 724-588-7610.
