I've worked at St. Paul Homes for over 34 years
as a nurse assistant. I enjoy taking care of the residents and I try
to make a difference. I appreciate their feedback and I like it when I
make them laugh. Often when I return from vacation time off the
residents will tell me that they missed me. The residents make me feel
needed. Over the years St. Paul Homes has been good to me. I can think
of particular times when they supported my personal needs by being flexible
and understanding.
Barb Wilson, Certified Nurse Assistant
It is a privilege to be working on a team where
resident care is a top priority. I like to think I am making a positive
difference in the lives of the residents and I'm very thankful to have been
working at St. Paul's these last 27 years.
Colleen Roach, Afternoon House Supervisor
I've worked in 3 nursing homes and I have friends
that work in other nursing homes. This is by far the best place to
work. It's wonderful - it's clean, there are lots of activities for
residents, and the staff is very caring and supportive.

"I was pleasantly surprised at the amount and
variety of programs offered here at St. Paul Homes. I had no idea
before coming here what to expect. I was the most bitter person I know
when I came here. Although, I'll tell you now - it's wonderful here.
I'm so busy doing all sorts of things including crafts, bingo, Skeeball,
bowling, Senior FITness, hymn sings, current event, musical programs,
decorating, cooking classes, puzzles and much more. I run the halls
now doing things I couldn't believe I could or would do."

"You give us enough activities to not be bored or to
sit around and feel sorry for ourselves. I am legally blind - the
first completely blind person at St. Paul Homes. The staff worked
along with me to determine safe boundaries for me and to establish programs
that meet my needs and perhaps other blind people as well. We've
determined when I do and don't need help from the staff. I am not
afraid to go it alone, however, staff are right there to help me."

I spent 20 years of my life in missions in Kentucky
and most of my life in some sort of ministry. I have lived at St. Paul
Homes since 1985 and being here gives me the opportunity to continue in
ministry. I love to visit and talk (mostly listen) with other
residents and staff and have developed wonderful friendships over the years.
I think the Lord continues to use me to do His work by giving me the
opportunity here at St. Paul Homes to minister to others in many ways. I
belong to Resident Council, help with Spiritual Services, volunteer for
Hospice and now I a member of the PEER program. I have adopted 4
residents and enjoy doing special little things for them. My door is
always open and everyone is welcome. That's my ministry. St.
Paul Homes is the best place and the best place for me to be.
Wilma Cogley, The Villas
"Living at Cottage Colony provides us with all the
comforts of home and it’s comparatively priced. We have peace of mind
knowing that health care professionals are near by if we need them. Our
house is our long term care insurance - we’re guaranteed care for life.
We’re busy and we can’t imagine when we had time to work. There is no better
place to spend retirement."
